We study the largest digital infrastructure we know: The Internet

This ranges from network protocol development and analysis, over empirical network measurements, to how we design, build, implement and operate these systems and networks, i.e., how individuals and society shape these systems, up to how these systems in turn shape individuals and society. Studying digital infrastructure requires in-depth understanding in all its interacting and often seemingly tangential sub-disciplines and methods.
